Congratulations to both Jack Van Dorp and Ursula Tracz who dutifully represented Canada this past February at the Multisport World Championships in New Zealand.  Jack placed an impressive 12th in his first attempt over the Southern Island course, which was plagued by poor weather this year.  Ursula also faired well placing 19th amidst numerous mechanical problems on the bike.  For more details on their journey visit Jack's website/blog at: www.vandorpracing.com.  Both participants won entry into the World Champs by competing at Logs Rocks and Steel last summer.

Ontario Adventure Racing Points Seriespicture of runners

For those not aware, Logs Rocks and Steel is part of a series of off-road, team-based events that make up the Ontario Adventure Racing Points Series (OARPS).  Check out the website to see what other great Ontario events are part of the series.

Upcoming Events:

Wilderness Traverse Adventure Race (June 5/6, 2010).  A 24 - 30hr adventure race I also organize in Haliburton County.  Check out the live coverage on the event website next weekend, as there will be live GPS tracking of teams via SPOT satellite messengers.

24 Hours of Summer Solstice (June 26/27, 2010).  Ontario's classic 24hr mountain bike race run by the provinces consummate mountain bike event organizers, Chico Racing.  Last I heard there were still a few team spots available, so sign up ASAP.

Emergency Services Adventure Race (June 19, 2010).  Only a few spots remain for this stalwart on the Ontario adventure race calendar.  Although the event is geared towards emergency services personnel, the event is also open to "civilian" teams, and is often attended by some of the provinces top AR squads.

5 Peaks Trail Run - Rattlesnake Point (July 10, 2010).  The June 12th 5 Peaks in Durham Forest is already sold-out, but registration is still open for the July 10th event at Rattlesnake Point.

Sincerely,
