Who are The Logs, Rocks, and Steel Team?

Bob Miller
Bob has been involved with Multisport racing for the past 10 years, first as a competitor, then as a coach, and finally as a course designer and event director. As a competitor, Bob began competing in triathlons in the late 90’s, he then switched his focus to adventure racing, where he now races on Canada’s top squad, TeamPeakAdventure.com. To date, Bob has designed over 30 adventure race and multisport courses throughout Ontario, including the 4-Day 2006 National Adventure Racing Championships course, as well as this provinces first Xterra course in Guelph. Bob is also the Race Director for the Adventure Sports Games (adventuresportsgames.com) in Collingwood, and the Snowshoe Raid (adventurerunning.ca), hosted annually in Horseshoe Valley.
   
Derek MacNeil
Derek brings a unique combination of skills as a project manager, accomplished endurance athlete, and events coordinator to the Logs, Rocks, and Steel race.  He has competed as an endurance athlete at ironman events, 24 hour mountain bike events (6 times as a solo rider), multi-day adventure races, and has been on the Ontraio Cup mountain bike circuit for over 5 years.  He is a level 3 cycling coach, the coordinator for the Ontario Sprockids Program, and runs a successful cycling consulting business which includes one-one instruction and beginner to high performance coaching. His passion for competing combined with the experience he's gained as a race director for countless events ensures you are to receive the best experience possible at Logs, Rocks, and Steel.

   

Peter Oyler
An experienced ultra bike racer, Peter completed RAAM in 2007, finishing 8th overall. From 1987 to 2006 Peter has finished 13 Ironman triathlons and over 60 short course triathlons. His best finish in an Ironman triathlon was 9:38:00 in 2001. Since that time his adventure racing career and desire to compete in 24-hour solo events has taken off. He has finished three 24-hour solo mountain bike races including one victory, and with various teams, he has completed numerous adventure races lasting 36 hours and one expedition length race lasting seven days!

Peter has two university degrees including his Bachelor of Arts and his Bachelor of Education. He currently coaches other athletes. Peter feels life is meant to be spent outdoors and likes to live by pushing his limits.
