Logs Rocks and Steel is an epic, point-to-point multisport race across the wild terrain of the Haliburton Highlands. Participants have two distances to choose from. The Championship Course, which consists of a 16k trail run, 14k paddle, and 50k mountain bike. Or, the Minden Course, which consists of a 7k trail run, 6k paddle, and 13k mountain bike. Courses will be fully marked (except for the paddling legs, where minimal navigation skills are required). Both routes are jaw droppingly scenic, amazingly challenging and at the end of it all, absolutely rewarding!
The Championship Course will also serve as a qualifier for the Solo World Multisport Championships in New Zealand.

The Logs, Rocks, and Steel management held an executive meeting on June 3rd to review the Championship Course conditions. The boardroom was infiltrated with mosquitoes and the floor was muddy and wet, but, the scenery was gorgeous! You can view meeting photos here to see the Championship Course for yourself:

We are hoping that the rain lets off a bit over the next few weeks allowing conditions to dry out. However, in the meantime, we are scouting options for course changes to route around some of the wetter areas. Regardless of the amount things dry, you all should expect to be dirty...VERY dirty...by the end of the bike leg. The run is not bad at all and the paddle is just wet (as it should be!). We will have an update the week of June 23rd.
